How to Recycle Our Packaging
Your items will be delivered in 99% recyclable/compostable materials:
- Cardboard boxes
- EPE foam cushioning
- Raw rattan string
- Packing tape
Cardboard boxes
Our boxes use a high quality, unbleached, untreated, unwaxed or plasticised cardboard. These can be flattened and recycled in most standard recycling curbside bins OR collected at council resource recovery centres. They can also be reused for storage or craft. It's up to you.
EPE foam cushioning
All of the foam cushioning we use is high quality clean EPE, this includes the foam wrapping around the furniture items. This is 100% recyclable into beads to be then made back into EPE foam. Most council resource recovery centres now offer the ability to take all EPS and EPE foam products, you may know them better as Polysterene. Please check your local council for collection details.
Raw rattan string
Raw rattan is a natural product that decomposes over time through composting. You can either add this string to your own composting or to the green waste bin collected by your council.
Packing tape
The only item that we cannot recycle completley at this stage is the soft plastic packing tape that is used to hold the boxes together. If we had soft plastic recycling in Australia, this is how it could be done but unfortunately there is no company providing this service. We are looking at ways to remove packaging tape in the future but at this stage, it needs to go to general waste. This is why we say 99% of our packaging is recyclable, the packing tape makes up less than the last 1%.
If you are able to return the packaging back to our warehouse, we will be more than happy to dispose of it at our local resource recovery centre.
We are always looking to find new and better ways to deliver quality furniture to you in a way that ensures it is fully protected and respectful to our environment. If you have any suggestions please contact us as we would love to get your feedback.
